R. Martyn Westerman is a qualified Civil Mediator, specialising in the mediation of small claims and in the Arts and Entertainment industry.

Martyn’s career in the Arts has given him the experience of negotiation and mediation in both the performance and management/administration areas.

Having worked as a professional musician and arranger, as Executive Director of the RTE National Symphony Orchestra in Dublin (Ireland) and in senior management positions in the BBC (primarily responsible for Live Music issues), he has been involved in, and led:

1. 1.union and non-union contract negotiations with performers, conductors and solo artistes;
   

2. 2.negotiations with commercial organizations (such as television, radio, artists management and recording companies).
   

3. 3.solutions to personnel issues within arts organisations;
   

4. 4.the creation of Human Resources policies.
   

Martyn also has experience in intellectual property rights and

copyright law.
